This is where it all began for me. I was around 10 or 12 when I started to go with my father to work. We would leave out of Bristol, Rhode Island and find a spot that my father had already tested where the quahogs, clams, were. Usually there would be a large number of other quahoggers on a spot so that also would be good indication it was the place to be. I would sort the bigs from the littles also known as little necks. The Littlenecks were the more desirable since they were more tender and people and restaurants liked them raw on the half shell.
These were the beginnings of my many experiences on the water. I really gravitated to it where it became a major source of inspiration for my art. I started painting fishing boats and over time I have included all things coastal.
