Brushstrokes of Light:
Exploring the Journey of Fine Art Oil Painting with Julie Brayton
Hello Friend,
Hopefully, we’re still friends Lol! I know we are.
I need to accept that when shows start, I am out of commission! The last time I spoke to you was at the end of April I think. Then the end of May happens, my first show, so I am straight out from then until October.
Hopefully, you still want to hear from me.
The Featured photo is of a happy couple who very particularly commissioned this painting.
New things have been happening.
I had been ticking around with Etsy here and there as you might know. I would honestly like to restructure my business to be less labor intensive. I would also like to do less Rhode Island shows. I feel like I would have a better audience in certain out of state affluent areas. If I could narrow down the number of shows to 5 and raise gallery representation to say three then I could focus on my online business and most importantly Plein Air Painting and Travel. Before Covid I started a group called Artescapes on Facebook with that in mind.
I have made a point of doing as much Plein Air (Open Air) painting as possible this summer. I have pushed my little chick students outdoors too and they love it!
Since the shows have ended I am focusing on my Etsy shops and a new launch of my “How To Paint Course” I will speak more on that the next section.
If you don’t know, my website pricing matches my gallery representation but as a VIP Subscriber, you get special pricing. So feel free to reach out if you see something you like. I sold a lot of work this season but still have work I need to add to my website.
I have a favor to ask, as it relates to my Fine Art Etsy shop, Julie By the Coast. I have done a lot of work in there. Etsy is hard but I’m determined! I am offering fine art prints and posters of my paintings. The prices are very reasonable. I have cards as well and may add journals. This could be an awesome gift for someone just starting out in a new home or new dorm room. It’s a very inexpensive way to start an art collection on a low budget. The canvas print quality is very nice and the paper, full disclosure, will need to be framed. It comes in a rolled a tube.
Purchases and reviews soar my ranking, opening up more opportunity for sales. Your Purchase won’t mean a lot of money for me since my profit is next to nothing. What’s important now is raising the ranking of my shop. No Pressure though.
I featured several of the prints and a card below.
If you live in Rhode Island or close to, We are Planning a show first week of November, 8 or 9,
I’m not sure which day yet, at Langworthy Winery in Westerly. I’ll keep you posted
Thanks for listening! If you have any interest in learning to paint the colorist way, read the next article : )
My Why
My goal or mission is to bring reminders and connection to the importance each individual has through the connection to nature. How we all can honor the essence of who we have always been meant to be. Creativity, whether through collecting art or creating it, is a healing force that allows us to embrace, tell and own our stories in a transformative and ultimately joyful way.
