Brushstrokes of Light:
Exploring the Journey of Fine Art Oil Painting with Julie Brayton
I finished my treatments two weeks ago. Whoohoo!!
The last two involved overnight stays in the hospital. I was in Rhode Island Hospital. They were all very nice. It was a better experience than I expected. The food is still pretty Bad! Lol! I actually brought my own on the second visit and they were so nice to refrigerate and heat up the food I brought.
I don’t know definitely where I stand but I’m confident I am good, healed, CURED! I’ll find out in time. It’s like pulling teeth to get information out of them UGH!
In the meantime, I’m taking September off from doing the outdoor shows with only October’s Old Saybrook and Scituate RI left to do in October.
I have to give a huge shout out to my daughters Taylor and Brooke who took over doing my shows towards the end of my treatments. They were amazing! Taylor, who is especially personable and extraverted, had my verbiage down and knew exactly how to help my potential clients make a decision.
She’s an amazing artist herself. Check out her work here, https://www.instagram.com/tayloraprilart/ or https://www.tayloraprilart.com/
While I’m on show break I’m turning my attention to my Etsy Shop, My online Course and Plein Air painting.
Since last Wednesday my energy has increased considerably and day by day it gets better in a marked direction upwards. Monday I actually did a little exercising. I met with a Plein Air group for the first time this year.
I’m so excited!!

My Why
My goal or mission is to bring reminders and connection to the importance each individual has through the connection to nature. How we all can honor the essence of who we have always been meant to be. Creativity, whether through collecting art or creating it, is a healing force that allows us to embrace, tell and own our stories in a transformative and ultimately joyful way.
How does nature and art make you feel? Comment below.
I would love to hear from you!
